John McAvoy has been helping successful individuals, business owners and public corporations enhance and preserve their wealth since 1992. He understands the complicated nature of today’s financial world. His experience, creativity and commitment to excellence provide a valuable resource for both businesses and individuals looking to make important financial decisions.

John graduated from Clark University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and received his professional training from The College Financial Planning. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association and is Past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Financial Planning Association. He has been quoted in financial planning publications on issues ranging from college planning to fiduciary issues pertaining to 401(k) plans. He is securities licensed in MA, NY, ME, NH, VT, RI, FL, GA & VA.

John was named a 'Top 401(k) Adviser' for 2015, 2016 and 2017, as featured in The Financial Times. John is also active in his community. He is past co-chair of the Capital Campaign for the First Congregational Church (FCC) of Sharon and has participated in numerous community service projects through the FCC of Sharon and Boy Scout Troop 95. John resides in Sharon, Massachusetts, with his wife, Sue, and his two children.

The Financial Times Top Retirement Plan Advisor awards are given by the Financial Times (FT), a daily newspaper with a focus on business and economic news. Applicants must manage a minimum of $75 MM in Defined Contribution (DC) plan assets and a minimum of 20 per cent of their client’s assets in DC plans. Qualifying advisers completed a questionnaire about the nature of their practice and FT grades advisers on six broad factors relating to DC plan business: AUM, Growth, Specialization, Experience, industry certifications and, compliance record.
